To Have a Picnic at the Wild Lake. Through the Spruce Tunnel

Everyone knows about Synevyr Lake, but not everyone has heard of its younger brother - the high-altitude lake Ozirtse, or as it is also called - the Wild Lake.

It is located 15 kilometers from Synevyr Lake, and hidden behind a spruce forest wall. We advise those who are tired of the noise, and want to enjoy truly untouched nature, to come here. The silence here is broken only by the singing of birds. And this is its main advantage over the “promoted” Synevyr Lake.

You can get here through the ecological trail, which starts from the Museum of Forest and Rafting, and has a length of over 4 kilometers. You will go under a picturesque green arch - a tunnel formed by spruce crowns.

The Wild Lake is located at an altitude of almost a kilometer above sea level, and covers an area of at least one hectare. Formed by natural blockage, it feeds exclusively on subsoil water. In the deepest place it reaches 28 meters.

There is a floating island of moss in the middle of Ozirtse. Even trees grow on it. Every year this island accrues, turning the lake into a high bog. Scientists from all over the world come to the park to study this phenomenon.

The surrounding area is equipped with piers, from which it is convenient to see the place. There is a table and benches nearby where you can sit, relax and dine after a walk. There is also a place to light a fire.

As the route is short, it is advisable to bring food for a picnic. But when relaxing in nature, do not forget to pick up trash, and in any case do not leave the fire open.
